چکیده

Objective: This study aimed to assess osteopontin expression following immunohistochemical staining of odontogenic cysts and tumors. Methods: A systematic review was conducted based on PRISMA Statement. The literature search carried out through PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct databases, covering all the articles published up October 2021, using a combination key terms ‘osteopontin’, ‘odontogenic tumor’, cyst’, ‘expression’. tool Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for Cross Sectional Studies applied examine quality selected articles. Results: strategy yielded in total 853 possibly relevant references. After removal duplicates, 614 titles abstracts were initially reviewed. From these, 22 independently assessed full text eligibility, seven studies included review. analysis revealed frequency as 35.3% (-) score, 23.5% (+) 21.6% (++) 19.6% (+++) score; tumors 11.3% 1.9% 3.8% 83% score. Conclusions: present showed different between OPN with score tumor higher than that cyst. highest shown cysts. Osteopontin has pattern related progressivity recurrence lesion.

Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst with Complex Odontoma: Histological and Immunohistochemical Features

The calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is a rare odontogenic cyst. Only 2% of all odontogenic cysts and tumors are COC. COC associated with odontoma (COCaO) reported in 24% of COCs. COCaO presents a greater incidence in female, with a ratio of 2 to 1. The highest incidence of COCaO occurs during the second decade with a mean age of 16 years, most frequently occurring in the maxilla (61.5%). Here...

Keratocystic odontogenic tumour: reclassification of the odontogenic keratocyst from cyst to tumour.

The purpose of this paper is to review the features and behaviour of the odontogenic keratocyst (OKC), now officially known as the keratocystic odontogenic tumour (KCOT); to analyze a series of histologically confirmed KCOT cases; and to review and discuss the redesignation of KCOT and the implications for treatment. Redesignation of the OKC as the KCOT by the World Health Organization (WHO) is...

Systematic Review: Pigmented Odontogenic Lesions

Abstract Introduction: Pigmented odontogenic lesions are rare; to date, only 60 cases have been reported in the literature. Melanocytes have been detected in a wide variety of odontogenic lesions. Several studies have discussed melanocyte presence and melanin production in odontogenic lesions, but its origin is still unclear. Therefore, the present systematic review aimed to gather information...

Expression of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor by Odontogenic Cysts: A comparative Study of Dentigerous Cyst and Odontogenic Keratocyst

Abstract: Background and Aim: Compare with Dentigerous cyst, Odontogenic Keratocyst is one of exclusive developmental cyst with unique clinical and histopathologic features. Considering the determining role of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in cell proliferation and survival, and the controversial results of previous studies regarding the expression of this marker by the odontogenic cy...

Myofibroblasts in calcifying odontogenic cyst and dentigerous cyst

Introduction:Calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) is an odontogenic cyst that sometimes shows aggressive behavior, while dentigerous cyst (DC) always has a benign nonaggressive course. There are evidences that myofibroblasts are involved in invasion and their role in biologic behavior of odontogenic cysts has been less understood. So, the aim of the present study was to compare th...
